Kate has been working with Can’t Sit Still as a Marketing and Production assistant for the last 6 months as an intern. She found her placement through the governments kickstart scheme. Create Glos role was to support employers in the arts, cultural and education sector to recruit young people.

They have been attending a weekly class at The Quarry Chapel, Cam where they were taught a range of craft skills and approaches to making products with the view to sell.

Read MoreIn March 2019, Gloucester Culture Trust launched the Creative Leadership Trainee Programme. The aim: to nurture the future creative leaders of today.
The programme has created four full-time, year-long jobs within four of Gloucester’s creative organisations, all of which are fully funded by the Creative Entrepreneurs strand of the city’s Great Place project. This area of our work, which we call JOLT, is about creating opportunities and a supportive space which enables people to work and make a living in the creatives industries, right here in Gloucester.

Of those 40 young people, over half of them were kept on by their employer or moved on to further study.
