Making Prints

Challenge:
Explore ‘monoprinting’ in three different ways.
Resources:
Waterbased printing ink (if you have it) or some waterbased paint
Ink roller/Small sponge paint roller (not essential)
Paint Brushes
Perspex sheet or thick acetate (not essential) - a wipeable tray or table top works just as well… anything that’s non-absorbent, flat and easy to wipe paint/ink from!
Paper – For printing onto. Thin paper, such as copier/printer paper works very well, cartridge paper torn from sketchbooks also works well.
Pencils
Damp cloth, kitchen towel or wet wipes

Artist: Forest of Dean Printmaker - Melanie Clarke. Melanie’s work is inspired by the landscape and history of the Forest and is currently focused on reducing the environmental impact of her work. Melanie works with a range of printing processes including; collagraph, etching, relief and stone lithography.
