Corinium Museum
Corinium Museum
The Corinium Museum tells the story of the early Cotswolds through archaeological displays unearthed across the district. It has some exquisite finds including a collections of some of the best preserved mosaics in the country. The museum covers the periods prehistory, Roman (the largest collection), Anglo-Saxon and Medieval with a little bit of Civil War and 18th/19th century. Many of the objects are testimony to the work of the ancient artisan - with bronze, silver and gold smithing, stone sculpture, mosaic patterns, glass works and ceramic creations, there is a wealth of work from the past to inspire the present.
Our temporary exhibition space offers artists and craftspeople a space for display and the shop and Visitor Information Centre share more artist’s work and places to go for the visiting public.
