Could you create an inspiring bus shelter?

The council is hoping to transform the appearance of the bus shelter into a welcoming public space. The theme for this bus stop installation is ‘Jubilee Celebrations of Cam’.

Cam has four stone bus stops, and the first for a magical make-over is the bus stop on the High Street (What3words: ///advantage.boot.posting).

Concept & Vision:

• Develop a clear artistic vision for the ‘Jubilee’ theme for the installation.

• It could be a collaboration between artists or by a local community group(s) or an individual endeavour.

Fee and Costs:

£700 artist fee

£250 available for Materials (negotiable)

Timescale:

Applications to be received by 7th April 2025

Applications will be reviewed on 14th May 2025

Applicants will be notified by 16th May 2025

Installation in summer 2025

Design & Materials:

Choose durable and weather-resistant materials suitable for outdoor installation. Protect it (as much as is possible) against graffiti.

Maintenance:

Ideally the installation will require no ongoing maintenance. If it may then please provide a maintenance plan to keep the installation in good condition.

Interpretation & Signage:

If you wish, you can incorporate signage or plaques that explain the artwork's significance, artist information, and any relevant historical or cultural context.

Safety and Accessibility:

Ensure that the installation does not obstruct pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
