Children's Drama Workshop at The Wilson
We arrive after a long journey with nothing but an eagerness to create a new life and our talent for making friends. Bit by bit, the magic happens… a new world of light and colour unfolds… a life even brighter than our dreams!
Our creative activities explore the story of Mattei Radev - a refugee escaping from Bulgaria as a stowaway, arriving in Scotland then settling in London in 1950.
Having nothing but a great capacity for friendship, Radev learns to frame pictures, then makes rich and influential friends, finally inheriting a collection of famous paintings. His life becomes full of hope and colour, and this is the story we bring to life in our drama.
The workshop is led by Gemma Bolwell of Drama Adventures, amongst the Radev exhibition, and is followed by craft activities on the ground floor of the museum.
