Artist Call Out - let out your ROAR!
In case you’ve not seen on socials already, Cheltenham and Gloucester will host a Wild in Art trail during the summer of 2025 where 30-40 large lion sculptures will be located across the two destinations, each one painted by artists and sponsored by a local business. More info here: Lions at Large | Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospitals Charity
The lion sculpture is a 3D canvas and therefore extremely versatile. It will hold every medium of art from fine art to graffiti, new media, mosaic to metalwork! Register your interest now and once applications are open, you will receive a template for your design.
Join the pride and use your art to help bring families together.
The large sculptures will be accompanied by several smaller sculptures which will be decorated by local schools as part of an education programme. More info here: Learning Programme - Lions at Large
The ‘Pride of Gloucestershire’ Lions at Large trail is being organised by Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospitals Charity to raise money for proposed new cancer care facilities in Cheltenham which will benefit the whole of the county. It will be a fantastic temporary attraction for Cheltenham next summer, boosting visitor numbers and increasing dwell time. The trails provide a free activity for residents and visitors but also have a positive economic impact. Most importantly for the charity, they raise a significant amount of money via an auction of the sculptures at the end.
