Cam is shining bright with Community Advent Project!

For the third year running The Quarry Chapel, Cam has worked with members of the community to create a giant outdoor 3d Advent calendar, which is on show throughout the run up to Christmas.

   Children visiting!

Rueben loves the boxes!

Over 350 children, young people and adults have worked on the 24 boxes creating festive scenes out of recycled, art and craft materials. Each afternoon at 3.30pm a box is lit to spotlight the beautiful creative work. By Christmas Eve all 24 boxes will be twinkling bright!

Abi Nicol, Development Worker for the Chapel says’ Yet again the community have come together to create this joyous installation. I have been able to work with the local primary schools, youth groups and adults to produce this year’s scenes. I have been blown away by the imagination brought to the project; every box is unique and celebrates the true essence of Christmas. The feedback from visitors is amazing; they love the effort that has been put into the Advent Calendar and enjoy coming each day to see the next box lit up! Participants should be so very proud of what they have achieved, they are so talented.’

Where can we see the calendar?

Everyone is invited to pop along to The Quarry Chapel, the Quarry. Cam GL11 6JB between 3.30-7pm each day to view the art project during Advent.
